Target Darts are preparing to say goodbye to all-time great Raymond van Barneveld.
Target new boy Glen Durrant has helped the launch of a special project. Wherever he has gone, van Barneveld has been welcomed with the famous “Barney Army” chant. The chant gets a good airing around the world, particularly in van Barneveld’s native Netherlands. Rotterdam gave Barney a rousing welcome during his four Premier League visits.
The outgoing legend, it appears, will be presented with a montage of fans pitching in.
Durrant got the ball rolling in a Target Twitter post. Fans have been invited to film themselves giving van Barneveld a shout-out, with an RVB ‘goody bag’ up for grabs.
Those taking part can tweet @TargetDarts with the hashtag #BarneyArmy to enter their video.
Van Barneveld was most recently in action at the Brisbane Darts Masters. He’ll appear at the Melbourne Darts Masters and NZ Darts Masters, before returning to his bid to qualify for a 28th and final world championship.
