The World Matchplay is edging closer and with it only a number of days away now we take a look back at a classic moment from the Winter Gardens.
Phil Taylor is known as being the ‘King of the Matchplay’, a tournament which is known as his favourite and now has the trophy named in his honour. Back in 2014, he produced a brilliant nine-darter in Blackpool.
He went a different way than usual with a 180-177-144; to produce a magical moment in what was a magical tournament for Taylor. He claimed a seventh consecutive and 15th overall with victory over Michael van Gerwen.
