Michael van Gerwen has cemented his place at the top of the European Championship Order of Merit after his second victory in as many weeks in the tour. He defeated Peter Wright yesterday in the final 8-5 as his form continues.
‘Mighty Mike’ sits atop of the rankings as a result of course and could skip the next few events and still be high up in the seedings. As it stands Van Gerwen is playing in Saarbrucken, Sindelfingen and Zwolle meaning he will be wanting to extend his relentless run in the Euro Tour.
Peter Wright sits second ahead of another form player in James Wade with those 3 far ahead of the next few seeds.
Luke Humphries also sits in the top 10 of the Order of Merit and with him qualified for at least the next two, he will be wanting another good run to cement his place at the European Championship.
Only 32 players will make it to the climax of the Euro Tour in Dortmund with there being 8 seeds based off performance and not the main Order of Merit.
