The action has began at Players Championship 6 with some big results coming out of Robin Park Tennis Centre in Wigan already.

They include Michael van Gerwen easing through to the second round with relative ease smashing Joe Murnan 6-0 with a 100 average.

Other wins come from the likes of yesterday’s champion Peter Wright who eased past Martin Schindler 6-2. As well as Ian White who will aim to add his first ranking title of the season today after losing out last weekend to Krzysztof Ratajski and he couldn’t have made a better start.

He defeated the very in-form Maik Kuivenhoven who has reached multiple Quarter-Finals this season 6-2 with a 105 average.

Ratajski is through after defeating Max Hopp, while the likes of James Wade (6-2 vs Lisa Ashton), Glen Durrant (6-5 vs Steve Brown) and Gerwyn Price (6-2 vs Ryan Murray) are all successfully through.

For Rob Cross though he has bowed out early losing to Dutchman, Vincent van der Meer in a 6-3 defeat for the former World Champion.
