Michael van Gerwen returned to form with a bang last weekend in Auckland losing only 13 legs on his way to an imperious title win.

He is now eager for more success as the World Series moves onto Melbourne. Van Gerwen has sent a message saying everyone needs to watch out.

On his World Matchplay disappointment, he said the only way to get over it is to win. For Mighty Mike, doing exactly that in Auckland makes him stronger.

“The thing that gives me confidence is winning so everyone needs to watch out,” said Van Gerwen.

“I was hurt after the World Matchplay but I also know from my experience that the only way to move on from defeat is to win.

“Winning then gives me more confidence and, even though I have nothing to prove, makes me even stronger.

“I go to every tournament expecting myself to win and I feel confident of doing that in Melbourne and Brisbane.

“It was nice to show that I’m still the boss last week and I want to keep doing that.”
