Michael van Gerwen is the first player through to the final at the Gibraltar Darts Trophy. The World Number One seems on course for yet another European Tour title defeating Steve West 7-4 to book his place to face either Paul Nicholson or Adrian Lewis.

Once again as usual he overturned a deficit to make it through. He was 3-1 down and West could only get one more leg as an enslaught of five 180’s and a 105 average brought Van Gerwen through.

West will be pleased though with his form this weekend considering an injury that could so easily have led to a bye to Daryl Gurney. For Mighty Mike he will go back to the practice board and await the winner of Nicholson and Lewis.
