Michael van Gerwen eased past William O’Connor in a 6-2 victory and praised the crowd after his win saying he doesn’t need motivation to play in front of them.

He was also extra pleased due to having his wife, Daphne in the crowd likely due to him playing in his home country.
“I don’t need motivation to play in front of a crowd like this, they are amazing,” said world number one Van Gerwen.
“I played well, I didn’t make any mistakes and I’m glad to have performed.
“I’m happy because my wife is here to see me play and now I will enjoy this moment before looking forward to tomorrow.”
