Michael van Gerwen is through to the semi-finals at the NZ Darts Masters after seeing off Gary Anderson for a second consecutive week.

Van Gerwen though had to produce a comeback to see off Anderson in an 8-5 win after being behind for the most part.

He ended up with his best average in a televised game for a while with 106.34 which included 3 180’s, only his doubles let him down in the early going with 42 percent.

Anderson started exceptionally going 2-0 up and asking the question of Mighty Mike in the early going. He extended his lead to 3-1 though.

Van Gerwen started to claw it back though going 3-2 behind but he missed further darts at doubles allowing Anderson to go 4-3 ahead.

Anderson though missed doubles in the requisite leg which allowed Van Gerwen to step in and hit 86 to go 4-4.

The theme continued with Anderson going ahead and stretching his lead out only to be pegged back.

This continued until 5-5 when Van Gerwen finally went into the lead and from there a late surge occurred and he claimed the win in another close tie.
