Michael van Gerwen claimed victory last night as the Premier League hit Liverpool defeating Gerwyn Price in a quality clash between the pair.

Van Gerwen claimed a late surge to defeat ‘The Iceman’ with a 106.27 average in what was a 7-5 win for the World Number One.

He reflected in the immediate aftermath speaking to Sky Sports about the game itself and his opponent Price.

“I think it was a tense game with a lot of power scoring. This was the total package for a game of Premier League. I think from all sides, the crowd were involved, some phenomenal finishing also from Gerwyn (Price)’s perspective and I think it was a good game to watch,

“Gerwyn (Price) is a phenomenal player so to have a good game you need too good players and that’s really important and he gave it everything.”

“I know scoring wise I was a better player but I couldn’t get on top of him so it was quite difficult.”
