Michael van Gerwen claimed victory at the Champions League of Darts this past weekend and he has sent a message to his rivals and critics afterwards.
Van Gerwen said that to anyone who wrote him off, he is back. Also that the Champions League was on his bucket list and now it’s been ticked off, it gives him even more confidence going into the latter half of the year.
“To anyone who wrote me off, I’m back,” Van Gerwen declared.
“This was a phenomenal weekend of high-standard darts for me, I didn’t have one average under 100.
“I made it really difficult for myself in the final and found myself in a position I should never have been in, but Peter was nervous and I took advantage of that.
“There’s lots of TV tournaments coming up and that’s a really nice position to be in because I love to perform on stage, especially when I’m playing well and winning things.
“Now the Champions League is ticked off my bucket list it gives me more confidence than ever as we head into the busiest part of the year.”
