Glen Durrant is into his second successive Lakeside final – and afterwards, he revealed he had help from a surprise practice partner.

Durrant defeated Scott Waites 6-2 to book his spot in the final. Now only second seed Mark McGeeney stands between him and another world title. Afterwards, Durrant praised defeated semi-finalist Waites.

“He’s probably the toughest (to play),” he said of Scotty 2 Hotty. “You give him a chance…if you give him the darts, he’ll take it out.”

“He’s a tough, tough player and a Lakeside legend,” Duzza added.

The world champion also revealed that Corey Cadby joined him in a pre-match practice session. The former World Youth champion “smashed the board” with Durrant, “and that lifted my confidence.”
