Michael Unterbuchner has vowed to “take it one game at a time” after reaching the BDO World Championship semi-finals.

Michael Unterbuchner has caused a real stir at the Lakeside, defeating three seeds on his path to glory. Third seed Jamie Hughes followed David Cameron out at the hands of the WDF World Cup Singles quarter-finalist. Then Martin Phillips was toppled, before the Munich thrower overcame Richard Veenstra in the last eight.

The 29-year-old was 2-0 down against the 11th seed, but battled back to win despite missing a clutch of match darts. The qualifier praised his mental coach for some vital advice, and backed himself to go even further. He faces BDO world number one Mark McGeeney in the semi-finals.
