Michael van Gerwen ended up winning his second UK Open Qualifier title in a row after claiming the title the day before. Like the day before though with Adrian Lewis who had an incident with Jose Justicia, it didn’t lack controversy with play suspended halfway through his final with Darren Webster.
Webster appeared to drop his dart which could of been construed as it dropping out of the board without him picking this up. With it being a 140 shot and potentially a game changer, ‘Mighty Mike’ questioned the decision.
The tournament director had to get involved in proceedings and as a result play was suspended like alluded to but this helped Van Gerwen as Webster could not get back into his rhythm and Van Gerwen went on to claim the title.
