Simon Whitlock beat Jermaine Wattimena to reach the last 16 of the Danish Darts Open. The Australian and the Dutchman met each other for a third time in one week.
Wattimena won their two games at the Pro Tour last weekend, but was unable to complete a hattrick over Whitlock. The Wizard took a 4-3 lead, before he hit back-to-back 15-dart legs to take the win in fashion style.
Stephen Bunting also moved into the final day of the inaugural Danish Darts Open. The former Lakeside champion defeated Peter Jacques 6-3.
The second day of action in Copenhagen continues on Saturday evening, when Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright, Rob Cross, Mensur Suljovic and Michael Smith will play their first game.
