Peter Wright was exceptional in winning Players Championship 5 and that showed in his tournament average.

Wright hit 106.07 which included a 110 average during the final with sixth ton plus averages throughout his run. This gave him one of the most dominant spells of darts in a day and also the highest recorded Players Championship tournament average in history.

It goes ahead of Michael van Gerwen from the first event last year who hit 103.95 followed closely by the 20th event from Wright last year with 103.76 being hit.

Nathan Aspinall and Gerwyn Price round out the list with the former hitting his as recent as the second event this year in what was up to yesterday the best day of darts this season.
