Peter Wright defeated Dave Chisnall in the opening fixture of the Champions league of darts.
Snakebite averaged 101 and 45% on the doubles as he eased to a 10-5 victory of the world number 6, also helping himself to 6 maximums along the way.
Much has been made of Wrights tendency to change his darts over the past few years, however, under orders from his wife Jo, Wright returned to his trusted Diamond darts for today’s action.
The pair traded 11 dart legs to open the match at 1-1, the only time Chisnall would be on level terms. Wright took leg 3 with a 13 darter and asserted his dominance from there. Reeling off a 4-1 lead.
Chisnall had a chance to level at 4-4,missing a dart at tops for a 64 out shot. That miss proved extremely costly for the yellow peril, winning only 2 more legs in the entire game.
Wright will now face the winner of Anderson vs Suljovic in tonight’s session, whereas Chisnall will play the loser of the same game.
