Players Championship 6 results, Last 128: Smith out early as Hine finds perfection in Milton Keynes

Round 1 is complete at Arena MK as Players Championship 6 has begun. Something strange has occurred though which is that most of the big names have made it through. Last weekend on the Sunday by this point only a few remained but this time it is different.

Michael van Gerwen is of course one of them who remains he defeated Steve Lennon 6-4 in what could have potentially have been a banana skin for the World Number One who will be aiming to make it 2 Players Championship titles in a row this weekend.
Gary Anderson is also through but he didn't have it all his own way. He had to survive match darts and come from behind to beat Toni Alcinas 6-5. Peter Wright and Rob Cross are also safely through, Cross in particular lost first round yesterday so will be pleased to get through.
Michael Smith and Gerwyn Price, two Premier League stars are heading home early though. Smith lost to Jason Cullen 6-3 and Price lost to Josh Payne 6-4.
There was also perfection in Arena:MK in Round 1, Steve Hine hit a 9-darter but still lost to John Henderson 6-4. Read about it here.
