Jacques seals weekly title in MODUS Super Series with victory over Thornton

The eleventh playing week of the MODUS Super Series was won by Peter Jacques on Saturday night. He earned a spot in Champions Week.

The best six players of the first five groups of action met Saturday divided into two groups during the final day of this playing week.

Daniel Klose won Group A thanks to victories over Martin Adams (4-2) and Greg Ritchie (4-2). Adams was allowed to advance to the semifinals as number two due to his 4-1 victory over Ritchie.

In the other group, Jacques managed to win both his duels after victories over Robert Collins (4-3) and Robert Thornton (4-3). Thornton finished second by winning the match against Collins.

In the first semifinal, Thornton was too strong for Klose (4-3), while Jacques sidelined his opponent Adams (4-1). The final was then a 4-3 win for Jacques.

Format

Each week from Monday to Friday, twelve players compete in several groups. The six best players advance to the final on Saturday.

In the thirteenth week of play, the twelve weekly winners battle it out to determine who becomes the MODUS Super Series champion and takes home the top prize of £20,000.
