Gary Anderson comfortably most accurate on switches to treble 19 this year

Christopher Kempf, in charge of statistics at the PDC, has brought out some interesting news, regarding the player's use of treble 19 so far this year.

Kempf calculated who switches the most from treble 20 to treble 19 and who is most accurate in doing so. Players are also becoming more accurate on this treble. This trend was seen just last week, when Michael van Gerwen scored 57 with 16 of his 23 attempts. He was thus the most accurate player ever in a Premier League match on treble 19 with more than 20 attempts.

The trend is likely to continue in the future. The Premier League player with the second most Treble 19 attempts per leg is 17-year-old Luke Littler, while the player with the fewest attempts is 54-year-old Peter Wright.

Looking at the statistics of the last 100 legs played, Gary Anderson appears to be most effective on treble 19. The 53-year-old Scot switches from upstairs to downstairs an average of 53 times out of 100 legs, scoring an average of 36.08 points.

In Anderson's wake we find Michael van Gerwen. He switches as many as 135 times out of 100 legs from treble 20 to treble 19, but is slightly less accurate than Anderson in doing so, scoring an average of 34.91 points.
