Gerwyn Price forced into late withdrawal from Austrian Darts Open due to back injury

Gerwyn Price has had to miss this weekend's Austrian Darts Open. The PDC reports that 'The Iceman' had to withdraw from the European Tour event due to a pinched nerve in his back.

Price was due to face the winner of the match between Andrew Gilding and Dominik Haberl in the second round of the Euro Tour tournament on Saturday. As a result of the withdrawal, Daniel Klose has been called up as a substitute. Moreover, the German will immediately take Price's spot in the bracket, leaving Klose to play against either Gilding or Haberl for a spot in the third round of the Austrian Darts Open.

The event in Austria previously faced two cancellations from world champions. Reigning world champion Luke Humphries and two-time world champion Gary Anderson had decided to cancel earlier this week.
