Last week in Barnsley saw four Players Championship events, the ramifications of which can be seen in the PDC Order of Merit with plenty of movers and shakers.
Two such examples of players making moves are Gary Anderson, who took one of the four titles on offer and gained the most prize money at the recent block. The Flying Scotsman is back up to 19th in the rankings as a result and will have eyes on regaining a place in the top 16.
Another man continuing to rise is Josh Rock. The former World Youth Champion is now, for the first time in his career, the Northern Irish number one after rising to 26th, overtaking Daryl Gurney in the process.
The 27th Players Championship tournament was surprisingly won by Radek Szaganski. He thereby scooped important money to keep his Tour Card, as the Pole needs to be in the top-64 after the upcoming World Darts Championship to keep his Tour Card. He is now 73rd in the world rankings but has secured entry to the Players Championship Finals and the World Darts Championship.
Another winner of a Players Championship event last week was Ryan Joyce. That victory plus other positive results have seen the Englishman rise five places to 36th, not too far outside the top 32.
