The eighth Players Championship of the year was a triumph for Danny Noppert, who won Luke Humphries 8-6 in the final. However, neither finalist appears in the top three highest averages of the day.
The highest average of the day was recorded by Gary Anderson. The Flying Scotsman' beat Jelle Klaasen 6-0 in the last 32 with an average of 114.15. Anderson eventually reached the quarterfinals before a 6-4 defeat to Humphries.
In second place we find Gerwyn Price. 'The Iceman' started the day excellently with a 6-1 win in his opening match against Lukas Wenig, achieving 113.05 average. Price eventually went down 6-3 against Noppert at the last sixteen.
The top three is completed by Ryan Joyce. The 38-year-old Englishman was too strong for Martijn Dragt in the first round with a 6-3 average of 107.52. One round later, however, Joyce had to pack up after a 6-4 defeat to Ritchie Edhouse.
