Martin Schindler snaps Gerwyn Price's International Darts Open dominance, one of only four players to beat The Iceman in Riesa

Gerwyn Price has been utterly dominant over the years at the International Darts Open in Riesa, but failed to seal the title for a third year in a row last weekend. In the final, he went down 8-5 against Martin Schindler. Price has won it four times in 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023.

Schindler was only the fourth player to beat him in this tournament with three other surprising names to complete the accolade. Price first competed in the International Darts Open back in 2017. Since then, he has lost to only three other players in Dragutin Horvat, Kim Huybrechts and Ross Smith.

But he also tops the Form Guide as compiled by PDC statistician Christopher Kempf also known as Ochepedia meaning that he is in good from despite his defeat to Schindler in Riesa. He will now head to the European Darts Grand Prix which takes place this Friday in Sindelfingen.
