Michael van Gerwen set to reach historic milestone this weekend at Austrian Darts Open

Michael van Gerwen is nearing a historic milestone on the European Tour. This weekend will see the Dutchman compete in the 100th Euro Tour tournament of his career at the Austrian Darts Open.

Van Gerwen made his Euro Tour debut all the way back in 2012, coincidentally also at the Austrian Darts Open. That was also the first tournament in PDC European Tour history. In 2013, Van Gerwen won his first two Euro Tour titles, then captured a third victory in 2014. From 2015 to the middle of 2019, Van Gerwen dominated the Euro Tour. During this period he captured no fewer than 29 titles. Altogether, his current tally stands at 36 European Tour titles, while the Dutchman has also lost 12 Euro Tour finals.

The Austrian Darts Open is scheduled from April 26 to 28 in Graz. Besides Van Gerwen, the likes of Luke Littler and Luke Humphries are also set to compete.
