Nathan Aspinall battles from the brink to topple Dirk van Duijvenbode, Rob Cross and Ryan Searle also advance

Nathan Aspinall came from the brink to see off Dirk van Duijvenbode to reach the final day at the 2024 German Darts Grand Prix as the Dutchman fell 6-4.

Via a 12-darter and two 14-darters Van Duijvenbode managed to win the first three legs of the match, and with another 14-darter moments later it became 4-1 in favor of the Dutch darter.

Van Duijvenbode then missed one chance at 5-1, before Aspinall returned to 4-3 via double 8 and a 12-darter. An 88 finish then provided the equalizer for the Englishman. Then came another slip by Van Duijvenbode, who was not out in six innings. Aspinall broke him via double 8 and then decided the match with a 16-darter in his own leg.

Ryan Searle and Rob Cross effortlessly made it to the third round at the German Darts Grand Prix. Searle proved too strong for Steve Lennon with a 6-2 win. Cross eliminated Daryl Gurney with a 6-2 win over 'Superchin'.
