Peter Jacques became the fourth person this year to throw a nine-darter at a UK Open qualifier. The Yorkshireman found perfection during his 6-4 win over Marko Kantele in Wigan.
The Terrier joins a short but rapidly growing list of players. Both Robbie Green and Ian White hit the nine during UK Open Qualifying 2. White struck his in a deciding leg, as he beat Daryl Gurney 6-5. A day later, Michael van Gerwen added his name to the list.
Jacques made headlines in 2017 for his run at the Players Championship Finals. That run and some impressive Pro Tour performances helped him to a first World Championship appearance in 2017.
