Early on from the start of Players Championship 7, a number of the biggest names in the sport have already departed things.
Berry van Peer provided a great result by knocking Peter Wright out of the tournament. Van Peer defeated the two-time world champion 6-1. By the way, both players threw an average of just 84. Kim Huybrechts gave himself a boost by beating former world number one Gerwyn Price 6-3. Benjamin Drue Reus shocked against Gary Anderson and handled the Scot 6-4.
Elsewhere, Michael van Gerwen threw an average of no less than 105.90 in his match against Andy Baetens. It led to a 6-3 victory for the Dutchman, with the likes of Rob Cross and Luke Humphries also bagging first round victories.
