Provisional field confirmed for International Darts Open 2024 including four-time winner Gerwyn Price

From April 12 to 14, the 2024 International Darts Open is scheduled in Riesa. This Euro Tour tournament in the East German city has been a regular stop on the calendar for years.

The International Darts Open was played for the first time in 2015. The inaugural winner back then, was Michael Smith who defeated Dutchman, Benito van de Pas in the final.

In the two subsequent years, Kim Huybrechts lost in back to back finals to Mensur Suljovic (2016) and Peter Wright (2017). Four of the five subsequent editions were won by Gerwyn Price. 'The Iceman' proved himself the best in 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023. Last year, Price took the title by defeating Michael van Gerwen 8-4 in the final. Van Gerwen also made it to the final in 2020, but then went down against Joe Cullen. In 2021, the tournament was cancelled due to the corona pandemic.

Defending champion Price is again one of the top favourites this year. Top players such as Dave Chisnall, Luke Humphries, Michael Smith and Michael van Gerwen are also in attendance. Van Gerwen is one of eight Dutch participants at the International Darts Open.

Other well-known participants include Peter Wright, Nathan Aspinall, Joe Cullen, Chris Dobey, Stephen Bunting and James Wade.
