Steve Beaton throws his fourth official nine darter three days after 60th birthday

Steve Beaton threw a nine-darter at Players Championship 7 on Monday. Despite the perfect leg however, 'The Bronzed Adonis' failed to win his match.

Beaton faced James Hurrell in the first round of the seventh Players Championship tournament. After four legs, Beaton was facing a 1-3 deficit. The Englishman then started the fifth leg with two 180s and ended the leg with a 141 check-out. He later came back to 3-3, but the win went to Hurrell 6-3.

For Beaton, it is his fourth official nine-darter at the PDC. The 1996 world champion celebrated his 60th birthday on the 5th of April and Beaton is currently in his final season on the PDC circuit. In December, he announced his intention to compete in tournaments on the senior circuit starting in 2025.
