Wayne Mardle picks Michael Smith for Liverpool homecoming win: "Not winning as many weeks as he maybe should"

For William Hill Weekly, Wayne Mardle looks ahead to the upcoming round of Premier League Darts play. 'Hawaii 501' thinks Michael Smith just might win in Liverpool on Thursday night.

Mardle regularly picked Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price in recent weeks, but that proved unsuccessful. '''I've got to say that I haven't been that great the last few weeks. Let me tell you why. I've been going for Gerwyn Price too often. I still think he's playing well and I still think he's going to nick a week,'' said the Sky Sports analyst.

But Mardle doesn't expect it to happen for Price in Liverpool. ''Someone who keeps reaching finals and not winning as many weeks as he maybe should is Michael Smith. I'm going for Michael Smith to come through that bottom half of the draw. First off he will take on Rob Cross, then it's the winner of Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright.''

''Then we shall see what happens in the final. He got beat in the final last week by Nathan Aspinall going into it favourite. Maybe he reaches another final and gets it done," he concluded.
