Hine on nerves ahead of debut at 'iconic' Lakeside: "I absolutely s**t myself"

Steve Hine moved through his second round at the 2022 WDF Lakeside World Championship in an impressive win over Leonard Gates.

He was super pleased to win through and summed up his pre tournament nerves.

"I'm over the moon, obviously as I said the nerves I found on Sunday night were something else I'd never experienced in my life. I think today I got over that nerves, I played some good shots and it hurt him. Hope it continues," said Hine to Tungsten Tales.

"Coming here is an absolute honour and a privilege. Obviously everyone knows I went down the PDC route and I did a few WDF tournaments, I can't tell you how much nostalgia. It's an iconic venue and any player that says they've played darts come and play here and see what it's like."

"I absolutely s**t myself, on Sunday night I've won because I won the last two legs of the set. Today I played a bit better, I played okay and I know I can play better."
