Wesley Plaisier grabs number-one position in WDF ranking from Neil Duff in latest update

Wesley Plaisier is the new number one in the world on the World Darts Federation (WDF) ranking. The Dutchman passed former WDF world champion Neil Duff in the WDF ranking.

Two years ago, the WDF World Championships were played in April. So that means the results of that time have now been taken off the ranking. Duff crowned himself winner at Lakeside in 2022, and thus had to surrender a lot of points in the rankings. Plaisier consolidated his point total, because two years ago he did not participate in the WDF World Championship.

Plaisier leads the WDF rankings with 906 points. He owes half of this point total to two tournament victories. His tournament victory at the World Masters in December 2022 earned him 270 points. In addition, Plaisier collected 167 points with winning the Dutch Open this year.

It is only the fourth time a Dutch player has topped the BDO/WDF rankings. Raymond van Barneveld and Wesley Harms were once allowed to call themselves number one in the world in the BDO. Jelle Klaasen led the WDF rankings in 2022.
