"Be right up there with winning the World Cup" - John Henderson keeps World Seniors Darts Championship hopes alive

Pre-tournament favourite John Henderson is into the last eight at the World Seniors Darts Championship. The 50-year-old Scot was a 3-1 winner over Kevin Painter in the second round.

Henderson did not reach his best level, but nevertheless managed to secure the win. "I'm feeling as if I'm playing at 60% of my game just now. I don't know how come, I can't quite put my finger on it but the doubles have really deserted me this weekend," 'Hendo' said post-match. "But you've got to take playing rubbish and getting through, rather than playing well and losing."

"I know I've got to improve again, but hopefully it'll come tomorrow," Henderson continues. "The standard is brilliant. I know I didn't turn up but I love playing here and it's a great opportunity for me. If I won it'd be right up there with winning the World Cup."

Henderson will take on Andy Hamilton in the next round after the Hammer knocked out reigning champion, Robert Thornton. "I might have counted on a duel with Robert, but obviously Andy is not to be underestimated either. But again, if I finally get to my best form, I just have to look at myself and I can definitely take the world title."
