Andy Hamilton came up just short last Sunday night, narrowly missing out on the win at a World Seniors Darts Tour (WSDT) tournament for the first time in his career. 'The Hammer' went down 13-10 against Richie Howson in the final of the Champion of Champions.
Hamilton had won 13-11 over Richard Eirig Rowlands in the semifinals earlier in the day, but eventually had to acknowledge his superiority to Howson in the final.

"Congratulations Richie," opened Hamilton in a review on his official X (Twitter) account afterwards. "This will hurt for a while but it wasn’t meant to be for me today!"
"But I’ll be back!" the 57-year-old Englishman continued defiantly. "The hunger is still there, I’m enjoying myself and playing with a smile on my face, which is all I can ask for."
Hamilton can get ready for the next major on the calendar, the World Seniors Darts Matchplay. This tournament will take place October 4-6 in York.
