Michael van Gerwen reels off five legs in succession to breeze past Peter Wright before vintage 'Voltage' sees Rob Cross join him in semifinals

The semi-final lineup is now complete in Liverpool as Michael van Gerwen and Rob Cross have joined Luke Littler and Nathan Aspinall in the final four on Night 13 of the 2024 Premier League Darts.

Taking on his old rival Peter Wright, van Gerwen wasn't at his brilliant best, but still had more than enough in the tank to recover from a slow start, that saw the Dutchman 3-1 down early. After that point however, van Gerwen reeled off five legs on the spin to breeze past Wright and into the semi-finals via a 6-3 victory, averaging 92.51.

And in the semis, it is Rob Cross who awaits. 'Voltage' has had a rough time of it in the Premier League of late, but to keep his slim playoff hopes alive, the former World Champion needs wins and as such, a 6-4 triumph over Michael Smith, is a positive start to the night. Averaging over 102, it was also an impressive performance from Cross.
