The Premier League Darts 2024 has touched down in Rotterdam this week. The Dutch port city will host the twelfth round of play of this competition.
The visit to Ahoy Rotterdam has been a fixture on the calendar of the Premier League Darts for many years. In 2016, an orange crowd of people got to witness the world's best darts competition in the Netherlands for the first time. With the exception of the two corona years, the Premier League has visited every year thereafter.
Like every week, the eight darters will play a mini-tournament consisting of four quarterfinals, two semifinals and a final. Michael van Gerwen will play in front of his own crowd on Thursday night. The three-time world champion will take on reigning world champion Luke Humphries in Rotterdam.

Since switching to the current format of the Premier League in 2022, Van Gerwen has not yet managed to win a weekly title on Dutch soil. Should Van Gerwen manage to win from Humphries, a meeting with Peter Wright or Nathan Aspinall awaits in the semifinals.
Teenage sensation Luke Littler is of course also in Rotterdam. The Premier League Darts frontrunner will face Michael Smith. The winner of this English friendly will play against Rob Cross or Gerwyn Price in the last four.
