Dutch sensation Van Veen is not yet thinking about World Cup of Darts: "Not for the next two years, although you never know how fast it can go."

Gian van Veen captured his PDC Tour Card at the beginning of this year. Meanwhile, the 21-year-old Dutchman has already climbed to 76th place in the world rankings.

Van Veen is doing tremendously well in his debut year with the PDC. In addition to his outstanding performance on the Pro Tour, he also managed to qualify for the World Youth Championship final and won the Development Tour.

He was therefore asked at 433 Darts whether he thinks he can already be part of the Dutch team at the World Cup of Darts in 2025. "I think 2025 is still too early anyway," says Van Veen. "In order to climb much further up the world rankings, I will have to qualify for the majors on a regular basis and get far there as well. Although of course you never know how fast it can go."

The two highest-placed Dutchmen in the world rankings are normally allowed to go to the World Cup of Darts. "I have to be patient, but obviously in the future I hope to be able to play at that tournament one day."
