Nathan Aspinall has done it! The Asp came from two sets down like most games in Friday’s action to dump out Gerwyn Price at his first hurdle at the PDC World Darts Championship.
Aspinall was seemingly on the ropes but throughout kept with the Iceman and when given his chance he tied the match up and from there smashed through the Welshman.
Price started the first set by cleaning up a 97 checkout after following up a 180 in a deciding leg and from there he went two up with another deciding leg set win with a 72 finish with four 180’s at this point to his name.
In the following set he missed a dart at the bull for the win and Aspinall started to take his chances taking out a 91 checkout to secure the third set in a decider and as a result go close to going level.
He completed the comeback with a 140 checkout to seal the fourth set 3-1 and he started the following set continuing in that same vein going two up to go one away.
Aspinall completed the feat coming from two down to slay the Grand Slam champion with a brilliant last set to send the crowd into raptures.
