Waites was 2-0 down and seemingly on the verge of heading out of the tournament but produced some quality when it mattered to defeat the top seed; who will be kicking himself that he threw away the lead especially when he hit seven 180's en route but it is 'Scotty 2 Hotty' who is through.
Harms began really well in the match; he soon had a two set lead closing out the first set with a 12-darter and by the end of the second, he was averaging around the 93 mark.
Despite that though, the Dutchman despite being top seed in the tournament has a knack of letting big games slip away at times; so the doubts potentially would have started to creep in.
Waites underpinned those doubts by hitting double 11 with Harms waiting to go 3-0 up and he cut the deficit from there and put himself back into contention in the match.
Waites was soon back on level terms and was flying as 'Sparky' needed to spark himself into life and fast in this match. This was not forthcoming though and more missed darts at double saw Waites have the lead for the first time.
He concluded the incredible comeback from there to book his place in the Quarter-Finals winning the set 3-1 after Harms had missed more darts to get back into the tie.
