In a new feature Dartsnews talks with players about rituals, superstitions and special manners. Firstly we spoke with Kyle Anderson about a remarkable ritual.

The 31-year-old Australian does a special act before he enters the stage ahead of his darts matches. Anderson wipes his feet during climbing the stairs towards the stage.

According to ‘The Original’ he does this as a sign of respect, he told this website. ”I do it as it holds a respect for what put the bread on my table and the toys in my son’s hand.”

”It [the stage] is my workplace, so it’s a sign of respect. Like not walking into someone house with dirty feet”, Anderson said.

Kyle wipes his feet before entering the stage between 00.48-00.51 in the video below.
