Luke Humphries produced brilliance to whitewash Pavel Jirkal as the first round action at the German Darts Open continues.
Humphries averaged 98 en route to his win over the Czech ace.
He will face a tough assignment though tomorrow with the in form James Wade his opponent in the second round.
Dave Pallett came through a much tougher test in his first appearance on the European Tour this year.
It went to a deciding leg in his clash with Mike de Decker and he held his nerve to claim the win.
This was with three 180’s and 60 percent on the doubles as the Kettering based ace came through a thriller.
Finally Vincent van der Meer will also be part of the line up for tomorrow’s second round as he will face Darren Webster.
He was 5-1 up and seemingly crushing but fell over the line on his 12th match dart.
He ended up winning 6-4 against the first of the host nation qualifiers in Karsten Koch.
