Gary Anderson came through a tough assignment on day one of the Auckland Darts Masters. He saw off qualifier Tim Pusey who was written off beforehand but showed exactly what he could do in pushing the recent World Matchplay champion.

Anderson spoke afterwards and ahead of a clash with Michael Van Gerwen he said he was looking forward to it. Also he said he hopes he can carry on his run in New Zealand.
“It will be good to play Michael, we always have great games so I’m looking forward to it.
“It was great to win in Blackpool last week and hopefully I can carry on the run here in New Zealand,” offered Anderson after his victory.
