Aspinall who in 2018 has claimed his first ProTour title win survived late pressure from the young Dutchman but came through without dropping a set. Nentjes started the first set poorly averaging 69 in being beaten three-one hitting only 1/10 on his doubles. This did not improve much in the second set either with him only adding one leg to that tally and making it 2/19. In turn this showed potentially Nentjes’ lack of experience on the stage. He like alluded to added pressure in the next set even hitting the front for the first time; but as was the case in most of the contest, missed doubles stopped his charge.
