Rob Cross will have a target on his back this year as the defending world champion but instead of being nervous, for ‘Voltage’ he cannot wait.

He will face either the dangerous Jeffrey de Zwaan or India’s Nitin Kumar on the opening night, Thursday. For Cross he’s admitted though that despite maybe being edgy in the first game; returning to the site of his greatest triumph might bring out the best in him. "I've been working hard in practice to make sure I'm ready and I can't wait to get out there," said Cross. "It's the biggest tournament in the world so you've got to be ready. "I might be a little bit edgy in the first game but I was last year too and it went well for me then, and coming back to Alexandra Palace might bring out the best in me. "Last year was completely different because there was no pressure on me, but I'm really looking forward to it. I love the set play format." for more information about the PDC World Darts Championship.
