Cross though didn't have it all his own way against the Asp, Nathan Aspinall. 'Voltage' ended up winning 10-8 but had to average 99 compared to Aspinall's 94.
Aspinall was 6-3 up at one point but the World Champion threw some good darts to make it through to tomorrow. Despite this early scare, Cross will remain one of the favourites for the title.
Also through includes
Daryl Gurney, he defeated Jelle Klaasen in a last leg decider. Gurney averaged 95 in his victory. Stephen Bunting smashed past Justin Pipe 10-3.
In addition, the in-form Krzysztof Ratajski is also a winner defeating Darren Webster 10-7. A 92 average from the Polish Eagle as the
UK Open Qualifier winner moves through.
