Draw 2019 BDO Lakeside World Championship confirmed: Tough starts for defending champions

The draw has been completed for the 2019 BDO Lakeside World Darts Championship with a potential rematch on the cards from the World Masters between Glen Durrant and Adam Smith-Neale.

Smith-Neale needs to get through ‘The Cowboy’ Mark McGrath in the preliminary round who impressed during the World Series legs in Australia and New Zealand. Among the other top clashes at Lakeside include Mark McGeeney versus Derk Telnekes with McGeeney looking to avenge his final defeat last year ahead of a tilt at PDC Q-School.
Wesley Harms against Tony O’Shea and Scott Baker versus Ross Montgomery are also on the programme.
In terms of the Ladies event; reigning champion Lisa Ashton will have a massively tough test taking on one of the most in form players on the circuit in Mikuru Suzuki.
As well we will once again get Fallon Sherrock vs Corrine Hammond facing off in the first round. Also Deta Hedman will face pairs partner Maria O’Brien and recent PDC World Championship qualifier Anastasia Dobromyslova will face debutant Laura Turner.
