Rob Cross continued his brilliant year by reaching another major quarter-final, this time it was the form of the Grand Slam and his opponent was Raymond van Barneveld. He defeated the dutch maestro 10-7 in a thriller and now has the test of 'Mighty' Michael van Gerwen on a bumper Saturday that also includes Phil Taylor vs Daryl Gurney and Cross spoke afterwards about Barney and also the game against Michael.
"Raymond is such a great guy and in the game I showed him too much respect, but I was glad to get over the line," said Cross, who averaged almost 104.
"I'm more than happy that I won and I'm starting to feel more comfortable that I can do it under pressure. I'm getting better all the time, I'm playing well and progressing.
"I'm never fazed and I think I've learned from my other games against Michael and as long as I do what I can do it could be a cracker because Michael is great at what he does."
