The Northern Irishman produced a superb 102 average, four points higher then Beaton.
James Wade and
Gerwyn Price also claimed an easy victory en route to the second round of the
World Series of Darts Finals.
Price only dropped one leg against Royden Lam, who averaged only 73. Wade defeated Ross Smith 6-3 to finish the first day in Vienna.
