Hopp after whitewash win over Dudbridge: “It’s a perfect start for me”

Max Hopp made a ‘perfect start’ to the Gibraltar Darts Trophy by whitewashing Mark Dudbridge. He will be back today to face Ian White hoping to continue his Euro Tour form.

He spoke afterwards and said that for him after all his hard work he is finally seeing the results and that the European Tour win took a lot of pressure off him. Hopp also said about the World Cup admitting that the loss to Barney has given him some extra motivation which he will be hoping to harness this weekend. “It’s a perfect start for me and I’m very happy with my game tonight,” said Hopp. “I’ve been working a lot on my game, I’ve had some tough times but I’ve always believed in my throw and now I am seeing the results this year. “I have put in the hard work and prepared well for these events, the European Tour win took a lot of pressure off me. “I was disappointed to lose to Raymond [van Barneveld] last week at the World Cup but I’ve used it as motivation to make sure I don’t end up in that situation again.”
