Hughes hits two stunning finishes to overcome Hopp at European Tour debut

Jamie Hughes has reached the second round of the European Darts Open in Leverkusen. The two-time Lakeside semi-finalist was 3-4 down to Max Hopp at his European Tour debut, before he won three legs on the spin.

'Yozza' took out 96 to level the match. Hopp missed then four darts to move ahead, before Hughes hit a stunning 126 finish to take over the lead. In the tenth leg the West Midlands Ace claimed victory after finishing 131 on double 16.
Darren Johnson progressed to the second round after beating Luke Humphries. 'The Dynamite' hit three maximums and averaged 103.22 en route to the victory. Justin Pipe overcame Michael Rasztovits, while John Henderson defeated Maik Langendorf 6-2.
